we expected more
First of all, I want to give thanks to the organizers, David Robles and Philipp Rohlfshagen and Simon Lucas. They did a really good work with the new interface, the web, the competition, etc..
About the competition results, we finished in second place in the 2011 Pacman vs Ghost team competition held during CEC 2011 in New Orleans (just with a difference of only 139 points!). Our ant-based Ghost team did a third place, what is a good new for a beta-version.
We don’t have reasons to be disappointed, as almost 119 controllers were submitted from the whole World (17 + different versions), but after winning the warming up stage we expected a first place. Congratulations to James and nqkien controllers!.
The competition has some visibility in the media:
- New Scientist (also see Geekosystem, Prosthetic Knowledge, Kurzweil AI, Science and Technology, Gizmodo (Australia), Gizmodo)
- cnet
- Engadget
- I Programmer (also see Slashdot)
- Singularity Hub
- PCWorld
And the overall winners are:
